PromptU

What is PromptU?

PromptU is a unique software product that manages your supply chain process from the purchase of raw materials, through the factory environment (to ensure traceability, integrity and accountability), to the sale of finished goods to market. Successful supply chain organisations depend on maximum system performance. With new technology and increasing volumes, keeping systems tuned and performing at their best is critical. Protrace Solutions Inc. and our resellers offer installation, training and support services to ensure that your systems run at their peak. PromptU helps processors meet the challenges of changing times with an innovative system that maximises yields, increases throughput, reduces labour costs and optimises product quality.

How does PromptU achieve this?

PromptU records relevant information about each process your business has and this can be used for traceability and accountability.PromptU stores and tracks relevant information on inputs (raw materials, livestock, cartons etc.) and outputs (finished products, carcases, cartons etc.) from the back-office and production processes in a single centralised secure database. PromptU records relevant information about each process your business has and this can be used for traceability and accountability. The system uses fully integrated factory floor data capture technologies throughout the factory environment. This includes:

  • handheld scanners for purchases, dispatches and product management
  • online unmanned scanners to monitor and track products throughout the factory
  • manual and automatic weighing and label barcoding stations
  • standalone networked bar coding equipment, and
  • computer and laptop workstations.

All transactions performed by the system are recorded in real-time. Information relating to these transactions can be used, viewed and reported on immediately after the transactions are captured.

Using PromptU, traceability lets you identify:

  • all the stages involved in the manufacturing of a product
  • the origin of the ingredients and components
  • the suppliers of  ingredients and raw materials
  • the warehousing of products and ingredients
  • the production, distribution and sales batch numbers, and
  • the exact products affected by an issue and who they were supplied to.
